Now in its 17th year, the AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition celebrates the creativity and talent of young filmmakers across Atlantic Canada.

We’re excited to announce this year’s finalists—16 outstanding short films created by youth aged 18 and under. These films represent bold ideas, unique voices, and the next generation of storytellers from across the region.

Join us for a special FREE in-person screening at Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane in Halifax on May 24th at 11am, where all finalist films will be showcased on the big screen. This is a unique opportunity to experience these stories as they were meant to be seen and to support the filmmakers behind them.

Finalist films are eligible for juried awards across multiple categories, which will be announced following the screening. Films will also be available from Monday, May 25th, on the AIFF YouTube channel, where audiences can vote for the People’s Choice Award.
