Volunteering With AIFF
AIFF is a not-for-profit cultural organization that offers a broad range of cinematic initiatives throughout the year, with a focus on the film industry in the Atlantic region. We thrive because of our strong ties to the arts community and our dedicated body of volunteers.
Interested In Becoming Part The Team?
During the eight days of the Atlantic International Film Festival each September, we host film screenings, panels, and parties—and we couldn’t make it all happen without our fantastic volunteers! Register with us by filling out an AIFF volunteer application form or attend one of our Info Sessions to learn more.
Already a Volunteer?
Make sure that your profile is up to date in our database, and we’ll keep you posted if any opportunities come up. Note: We require the most volunteers during the Atlantic International Film Festival each September, but we occasionally need volunteers for other events throughout the year.

Call for AIFF Filmmakers’ Advisory Committee 2026
The Filmmakers’ Advisory Committee (FAC) is looking for new members! The FAC was created in 2024 to create a meaningful, ongoing link between the festival and filmmakers in Atlantic Canada. The committee is designed to foster open dialogue with respect to the festival's activities and plans and the needs and concerns of the industry.
At this time we are specifically looking for 1 - 2 new members from PEI and Newfoundland and Labrador. (Deadline: May 6, 2026)
-
The Filmmakers’ Advisory Committee is composed of 10 - 12 members including: 2 AIFF board members; senior AIFF staff; and filmmakers, producers and film industry professionals representing the diversity of our industry. Priority will be given to members from equity-deserving communities and we will aim to include a variety of filmmaking practices and representatives from all four Atlantic provinces.
-
The committee is designed to provide feedback and external context to the festival, which will help the festival be more relevant and responsive to the community. The committee has no official duties or decision making powers and will not have any knowledge of or input regarding programming decisions. There will be 3 - 4 meetings per year, which will be held virtually.
-
Committee members who take part in all the meetings throughout the year will be offered a free Festival Pass for their participation.
-
To put your name forward for the Filmmakers’ Advisory Committee, please fill out the google form and include a copy of your most recent CV or resume. Submissions will be reviewed internally to assemble a representative committee.
