AIFF Outdoor: The Halifax Pride Edition, presented in partnership with Halifax Pride, returns this summer for a special night under the stars. Join us on July 25 (Rain date: July 26) at the Halifax Public Gardens for a free outdoor screening celebrating film, community and Pride, in a vibrant, open-air setting.

At this time registration is fully booked, but a rush line will be available on the day of the event.

Sing, Dance
and  Feel The Joy

This year’s featured film is Mamma Mia! (2008) — a sing-along-friendly musical set on a sun-soaked Greek island. With iconic ABBA hits and a joyful, feel-good story, it’s the perfect film for a summer evening with friends and community.

Meet Penny Cillin

We’re excited to welcome Halifax Drag Icon Penny Cillin to this year’s AIFF Outdoor.
Penny will be joining us in the main event zone, bringing energy, personality and a
touch of disco to the evening. Come say hello, take photos, and enjoy the night with Penny Cillin as part of the AIFF Outdoor experience!

Snack, Relax, and Enjoy

Free popcorn will be available throughout the event. To help reduce waste, we kindly encourage guests to bring their own reusable containers.

Uncommon Grounds will also be open on-site from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM for snacks and beverages.

Know Before You Go

  • The show starts at dusk (estimated 8:50 PM) and gates will open 8 PM.

  • Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. We recommend arriving early to secure your preferred spot or bench seating. We invite you to bring picnic blankets and alternative seating such as camping chairs.

  • This event is wheelchair accessible. Should you wish to discuss your accessibility requirements, please reach out to info@atlanticfilm.ca.

  • Please note, the Halifax Public Gardens is a no smoking zone. No bicycles or scooters are allowed in the gardens, nor are pets allowed for this event.

  • The Halifax Public Gardens is a designated alcohol- free zone. Snacks and beverages can be purchased at the Uncommon Grounds cafe on site. Washrooms are located on site.
