2024 AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition: Finalist Screening

Join us to celebrate the creativity, originality, and unique vision of Atlantic Canada’s youth creators!

Celebrating 15 years, the AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition showcases and awards films created by young people 18 years old or younger. As Atlantic Canada’s largest youth film competition, the AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition is a free challenge to develop skills as a filmmaker, regardless of previous filmmaking experience. The Competition celebrates short films being created across the Atlantic Canadian Provinces and provides a platform for films to be celebrated. All finalist films are eligible for prizes, in varying categories.

This year we’re thrilled to be returning to cinema in 2024 with an in-person screening of our Finalists films! It will be a fun and exciting opportunity for Finalists to showcase their work on the big screen.

Sunday May 26, 2024, 10:30 AM

The free event will take place at Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane Halifax.

Note that although the films are made by youth, the films may not be suitable for all ages, and there is instances of implied violence, mature subjects, and course language

The Juried Youth Competition Awards will be announced following the screening.

From May 27 - June 2 you can watch the Finalist lineup on the AIFF YouTube channel, support the next generation of filmmakers and vote for your favorite film!

The Audience Award will be revealed on June 3.
