Congratulations to our 2024 AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition Finalists! ππΏππΌππ½
We were thrilled to have 32 short films from young Atlantic Canadian filmmaking teams take part in this years Competition. Faced with the challenge of narrowing it down, our judges have chosen 16 finalist films. From comedy to drama to documentary, these films showcase the budding talent and creativity of the next generation of filmmakers.
This year we return to the cinema, our finalists premiering on the big screen in cinema! This in-person screening will be a fun and exciting opportunity for Finalists to showcase their work alongside family, friends and film fans.

Catch the premiere these films on the big screen on May 26 at Cineplex Park Lane (Halifax, NS) and will be available to watch online via the AIFF YouTube channel as of May 27.
All films are eligible for the Audience Award, so remember to vote for your favorite! Juried winners will be announced following the in-cinema screening on Sunday, May 26 and the Audience Award will be announced on June 3.
Celebrating 15 years, the AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition showcases and awards films created by young people 18 years old or younger. As Atlantic Canadaβs largest youth film competition, the AIFF Kids Youth Film Competition is a free challenge to develop skills as a filmmaker, regardless of previous filmmaking experience. The Competition celebrates short films being created across the Atlantic Canadian Provinces and provides a platform for films to be celebrated. All finalist films are eligible for prizes, in varying categories.
