Highlights from the 28th Edition of AIFF Partners!

This September 10-12, AIFF Partners celebrates its 28th year in grand style with a spotlight on The Nordics! Taking place as part of the 45th Atlantic International Film Festival, our uniquely East Coast co-production market is back with new features and a new spotlight region.

Join us in welcoming The Nordic Film Commissions and their regional producers to Atlantic Canada for three days of receptions, meetings, pitches and panels, with a special focus on Sámi stories and producers, brought to us by the International Sámi Film Institute. 

This year our market finds a new home at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. At this seaside retreat steeped in Maritime charm, delegates will be able to conduct their meetings with ease, while also enjoying several leading industry speakers and a Networking Lunch presented by Screen Nova Scotia. Delegates will further experience the beauty our region has to offer, closing out a busy day of newfound partnerships with a ‘Golden Hour Cocktail’ and performance by local musical guest Cameron Nickerson, followed by our signature ‘Lobster Dinner by the Sea’. 

Alongside these stunning moments, our market will present cutting edge panels covering topics including: Co-Production with the Nordics, Sami & Indigenous Perspectives and Virtual Production in our dedicated Industry Cinema, followed by the Partners Pitch Competition highlighting projects from the market, presented by Sunbelt Rentals and supported by PurpleDog Post Production with exceptional prizes provided to one lucky Producer.

Returning are the same great buzz sessions, pre-scheduled 1-2-1 meetings and programming that have always made Partners stand out, now streamlined by the introduction of the Swapcard App, which will allow our delegates to design and edit their profiles and projects at will, book a seat at roundtables, request 1-2-1 meetings and view their schedules, all in an efficient and simplified manner.  

Also new in 2025, Partners will welcome participants from the Director's Guild of Canada's inaugural Market Accelerator Program. These DGC members will have a special delegation within our market. They are poised to introduce bold visions and exciting new projects!

The 45th edition of the Atlantic International Film Festival starts on Wednesday, September 10 and runs until Wednesday, September 17, 2025, with the 28th year of AIFF Partners’ Co-Production Market running September 10-12, 2025.
