Logline:
An Ancient History Professor’s quest to protect her family legacy uncovers a horrific truth
from the past that threatens everything and everyone she knows.
Synopsis:
Cleopatra's Needle is inspired by the true events, legends, ghost sightings, and the mysterious time capsule buried underneath the Needle. Although the story takes place in present day, plot lines can be dated back to 1819 when the Needle was a gift to London from Egypt. This ancient Egyptian monument is filled with strength and mystery where there are numerous ghost sightings and theories about the Needle.
When Ancient History Professor Sophia’s Dad dies in a tragic accident, she will stop at nothing to protect her long family legacy. Picking up the mantle of her Father and Grandfather, she enlists the help of a female undergraduate student, along with her sister Tammy, to search for the truth. These strong and passionate women take us on an adventure to solve one of the Ancient World’s greatest mysteries.
Just when Sophia and her team get closer and closer to unlocking the answers, they begin experiencing horror-stricken encounters with the supernatural. We soon learn uncovering the truth can be all too dangerous, and sometimes it’s best to leave secrets alone. As the search for the truth heightens, Pladdy, our ghostly force to be reckoned with, reveals a dark secret about her and the spirits she protects. In an unexpected moment of bravery, Pladdy reveals her pain in her earthly life, she was unable to protect a group of women left in her charge in the late 1800’s. They were all raped. Multiple times.
Sophia and Pladdy have a faceoff and Sophia fights for her life. She learns once she is able to let go of the past and reveal her own experiences with abuse, a journey towards peace and justice begins.
