Synopsis:

On a red dirt road in Prince Edward Island, uptight wedding-goer Luke blows a tire and accepts a ride from Julia, a chaotic free-spirited musician headed to the same destination. What starts as friction—his obsession with order versus her impulsive worldview—becomes an island-spanning adventure as they detour through small towns, back roads, and a seaside cottage they shouldn't be in. Stripped of his phone and plans, Luke discovers Julia is hiding from her past life as "Heidi," while he admits he's been playing it safe for years, terrified of wanting more. Their chemistry deepens into something real until a devastating truth emerges: the wedding Luke's traveling to is his own. The revelation reframes everything—Luke isn't just avoiding responsibility, he's been sleepwalking into a life he doesn't want, and Julia's falling for someone with an expiration date. As time runs out, they face their final tests: Julia must confront her ex-husband Ricky to reclaim her dog and sever ties with who she used to be, while Luke stands up for her in a moment that forces him to choose between comfort and honesty. Luke initially takes the easy way, letting Julia drop him at the church. But then he bursts out mid-ceremony, sprinting through Souris in a tuxedo, choosing the terrifying uncertainty of a real future over the safety of his planned one. With no destination and no safety net, Luke and Julia drive off together—unmapped, unprepared, but finally choosing each other over fate or coincidence.
