Logline:
When her mother is released from the mental health hospital, Jaynan struggles to care for her while also somehow caring for herself.
Synopsis:
When her mother is released from the mental health hospital, Jaynan (a childish 20-something), does what any sane person would do - she freaks the frick out. Stuck in her hometown, newly jobless and semi-forcibly caring for her mother, Jaynan does her best to be “a good person”...whatever that means. A chance encounter with her old (and now new) high school crush Pax puts Jaynan in a precarious position. Can she actually have her own life, outside of her mother’s illness? Flailing her way through home life and her love life, Jaynan slowly realizes that maybe, just maybe, she isn’t a total disaster (at least, not all the time).
This dramatic comedy delves into that sticky moment when the child becomes their parents' parent. The messiness, and hilarity, and the heartfelt struggle of people who are just trying their best - even if their best kind of sucks right now. Highlighting the importance of community, and community support, this series will make you laugh, cry, and call your mom.
