Logline:

In a sleepy rural town, four middle-aged men turn their weekly bowling night into an armed vigilante group—and what begins as protection slowly curdles into tragedy.

Synopsis:

Clay Walker, 44, lives a quiet, functional life in a sleepy rural Vermont town. He works alone as a carpenter, keeps his feelings largely to himself and has never quite understood the gentle father he spent years judging as weak.

Tuesday nights are different.

Clay bowls with Brian, 41, and Davit, late 30s. When Josh Levin, 36, a funny, charismatic restaurateur new to town, joins them, an ordinary bowling night becomes something none of them realized they were missing. Soon Tuesday means bowling, a five-dollar side pot, too much food at Josh’s restaurant, weed after closing and the simple pleasure of having somewhere to belong.

They have jobs, wives, children and responsibilities. They are not failures. They are simply intelligent, capable men living in a place where not much happens.

Then a hate symbol appears on the back of Josh’s restaurant.

The men report it, paint it over together and try to move on. But when other crimes around town become associated with a mysterious white pickup, Josh convinces them to take a firearm-safety course and begin driving the back roads at night.

At first, the patrols are almost comic. They bring bad coffee, chase shadows and enjoy feeling useful. Then they actually help someone. People thank them. Their families notice their new confidence. Guns, vigilance and purpose begin filling spaces in their lives they had never quite known were empty.

Clay eventually discovers that the original vandalism was committed by Adam Pike, a frightened seventeen-year-old who acted on a stupid dare. Clay tries to contain the truth quietly, afraid of what Josh will do with it.

Before he can, Josh spots a white pickup outside his daughter’s bedroom window and gives chase.

The four men converge on Adam in an isolated logging clearing. Adam has come carrying a written confession, but fear has already outrun the facts. His volatile older brother Wayne arrives armed, trying to protect him.

Within seconds, Wayne shoots Josh.

Clay shoots Wayne.

Two men are dead, and Adam’s confession lies crushed in the dirt between them.

In the aftermath, the surviving members of the Tuesday Club are left to understand what they created.

What began as friendship became protection. Protection became purpose. And purpose gave ordinary men permission to become something none of them believed they were capable of.
