AIFF 2026: A Visual Journey Across Atlantic Canada
Every year, the Atlantic International Film Festival evolves, not only through the films we present, but through the stories we tell visually. For 2026, our visual identity is rooted in one core idea: Atlantic Canada, frame by frame.
A Festival Inspired by Place
This year’s visual campaign celebrates the landscapes, culture, and cinematic legacy of Atlantic Canada, reimagined through a bold, graphic lens. Each piece in the series highlights a different province:
Nova Scotia (Angus L. Macdonald Bridge)
Newfoundland & Labrador (Signal Hill)
New Brunswick (Hoewell Rocks)
Prince Edward Island (Point Prim Lighthouse)
From iconic coastlines to historic landmarks, these visualsare stylized interpretations designed to capture the spirit of place.
A Unified Visual Language
Rather than replicating each province’s real-world colours or geography, the 2026 visuals embrace a cohesive system:
Vibrant gradients and layered textures
Paper-cut inspired depth and dimension
Film strip framing to reinforce cinematic storytelling
A bold, contemporary colour palette aligned with AIFF branding
The result is a series that feels both distinct and unified, much like Atlantic Canada itself.
Where Film Meets Landscape
Atlantic Canada has long been a source of cinematic inspiration. From global productions to local storytelling, this region has shaped film in ways both seen and unseen. This year’s visuals reflect that legacy:
A lighthouse standing against the coastal wind
Rugged rock formations carved by time
A bridge connecting communities across the harbour
A signal point looking out toward the open Atlantic
Each scene becomes a “frame”, a moment frozen in time, much like the films we celebrate.
From Atlantic Canada to Everywhere
At its heart, AIFF is about connection. Rooted in Atlantic Canada, reaching across the world. This year’s visual direction reinforces that idea — showing how stories that begin here can travel far beyond.
