Logline:

A documentary about a non-traditional queer chorus in Nova Scotia who must confront personal change and societal resistance in order to find their collective voice.

Synopsis:

A double award winner at the 2026 Hot Docs Forum, including the Chicken & Egg Films Special Pitch Prize and the First Look Third Prize, The Forever Chorus is an intimate and uplifting documentary that delves into the heart of a non-traditional choir in Nova Scotia. This vibrant collective welcomes everyone, including queer individuals and their allies, to foster a safe space where all voices are celebrated. In these challenging times for queer and trans people, the choir is a sanctuary and a testament to the need for queer joy. At the core of the film is the baritone section, comprised entirely of trans individuals on testosterone who navigate the volatile and beautiful process of stretching their voices. The film captures weekly rehearsals, intimate explorations of the chorus members' lives, and powerful finale performances to explore this grassroots community and its growth. Ultimately, it reveals the profound influence of this intimate collective, proving that sometimes its the smallest of communities that can affirm identities and transform lives.
