Director Bio:

Tara Thorne is a recovering journalist in Halifax, where in between films she works as an arts administrator. Her debut feature as a writer-director, COMPULSUS (2022), was a Telefilm Talent to Watch recipient and screened at festivals from St. John's, Newfoundland to Sydney, Australia before being released theatrically in Canada by Vortex Media. Her second Telefilm-supported feature, LAKEVIEW (2024), is on the festival circuit now and has played three continents and the top queer film festivals including BFI Flare, Frameline, and Inside Out with stops in Atlanta, Albuquerque, Paris, Parrsboro, and Switzerland on deck through the autumn.
