Logline:
Two female writers—one a driven Gen Z, and the other a jaded, best-selling Boomer—fight to the death over the resurrection of a character from an old children’s book.
Synopsis:
YOU WERE HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT is a home invasion thriller with a supernatural twist, developed by an internationally award-winning team.
PAIGE STEWART (18) is perky, positive and deranged. She believes-- with all her heart—that she’s destined to become a world-famous writer, which will mean escape from her dead-end town.
But strangely, Paige’s own favourite writer has just moved to this very same place. ALICE O’BRIEN (80) is the best-selling author of a series of children’s books, starring a devilish and invisible little girl named 'Plain Sight'. O’Brien has grown weary of the 'Plain Sight' character, and of the public eye, and so she’s moved to the middle of nowhere, wanting only to be left alone. But Paige believes that the old woman’s arrival must be taken as some kind of a sign.
Because for a while now, Paige has been writing 'Plain Sight' fanfic of her very own. And Paige desperately, violently, needs Alice O'Brien's help to resurrect the devilish 'Plain Sight' character.
For real.
